Mauna Loa Village is walking distance, about a ten minute walk down the street, to the place where you can make arrangements for snorkeling, scuba diving, whale watching (in season) and other
activities.
Or, Drive a little way toward Kona on Alii Drive to nearby snorkeling beach Kahaluu Beach Park. There is public parking with concessions. The snorkeling is wonderful! So many brightly colored large fish and sea
turtles too.

Mauna Loa Village is loacted in Keauhou, very close to Keauhou Shopping Center where you will find a huge grocery store, huge drug store and various up scale restaurants. This major shopping center has it all. Kona is only 6 miles or so up the road, if you want anything else - or other fine restaurants.
There are beaches scattered up and down Alii Drive, (the main or old road between Kona and Keauhou).
